| DUN LAOGHAIRE LIVES |
|
As a young lad I used to go down fishing to the west pier on my bike. A man used to wave at me as I was crossing the railway tracks and say hello. I recall being touched by the fact that he took time to say hello to me, his genuine warmpt and sincerity. It was as though he was keeping an eye on me making sure I came to no harm. That man was the late Johnny Shortall. Sadly he was the victim of a break in in the Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club and killed. The programme features an interview with his sister Nuala and is dedicated to his memory. May he rest in peace. Essentially this is a human interest story that people can relate to, not just people from the borough of Dun Laoghaire, allowing people to reminisce about what life was like growing up and archiving memories before they are lost.
