Traffic in Ireland drives on the LEFT hand side of the road. If you are travelling from the UK you will be familiar with most of our road signs, markings, speed limits and roundabouts however if you are coming from the USA or Continental Europe it may take you a bit more time to get used to driving on the left hand side of the road as well as the different types of road layouts.

The general speed limit in Ireland on non-urban roads is 60 mph. The speed limits for Urban Areas is 30/40 mph (watch out for the road signs that indicate which speed limit you are driving in). The speed limit while driving on a motorway in Ireland is 70mph. Wearing seatbelts in both front and rear is compulsory at all times.
