Ah, the old Princess Maud. I travelled on this grotty ship from Ho;yhead a few times. and there was another one also put in to service  which I think was called The Duchess of Argyle.

The second picture there was taken by Pat Sweeney, now editor of Iris Na Mara, the journal of the Maritime Institute of Ireland.

Two months ago an uncle of mine, Fred Hayes, passed away, he served on the Princess Maud. He was there when she was the last ship to leave Dunkirk
