| CITIZENS INFORMATION CENTRE |

| Previously known as Community Information Centres since their establishment in 1974, this is a public service just like a Citizens Advice Bureau. The national network of Centres is there for the benefit of all and is funded by Comhairle. |
| The Citizens Information Centres have access to up-to- date information on all matters of public concern, i. e. Health, Social Welfare, Taxation, Housing, Consumer Affairs and other matters including information on local organisations and services. Local people who receive training and back up from Comhairle deliver the service on a voluntary basis. | |
| There is no charge for the service and it is not necessary to make an appointment. It is confidential. The Citizens Information Centre (CIC) philosophy is that you have the Right to Know whether you are a Citizen, E.U. National, Asylum seeker, Refugee etc. It will help you to find out. It stocks a wide range of application forms and booklets and in the case of Dun Laoghaire CIC its Information Database is up-dated on a nightly basis. |

| The information held by a CIC is categorised under the following headings: | |
