| A HERITAGE OF KINGS |

John Cook's spectacular video film traces the building of the town of Dun Laoghaire from the ancient King Laoghaire to the launch of the Sea Lynx. Using archive film and previously unseen photographs this video brings the viewer on a journey through the building of one of the worlds finest harbours to the royal visits and building of the world's first suburban railway. The war years are also recorded as is the tragic torpedoing of the mailboat, R.M.S. Leinster. The arrival of the papal legate is recounted as is the disasterous fire that destroyed St. Michael's Church and led to the reshaping of the town. |
