The Art Exhibition is an invitation for everyone to get involved in this unique event. 'Share the Feeling' is the theme of the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games, and our hope is that everyone with an interest in art will participate in this wonderful and unique event. We want to inspire everybody to 'Paint the Feeling'! This theme should be used as inspiration for the artwork in the context of its relationship to the games. Aim The aim is to encourage participation from the community of Ireland to get painting. If you are interested in submitting your artwork please contact your nearest library. Who Artists from the entire community, whether you are a beginner or advanced. This is not a competition; it is an exhibition to involve everybody. There are no prizes or judges. There is no age limit; people of all ages are welcome to get involved. Guidelines Art should be submitted in one of the following sizes: There will be a 'no return' policy on all the submitted pieces of art. There will be a limit of one contribution per artist. Venues In the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown area, the exhibitions will be held in local libraries: Blackrock, Deansgrange, Glencullen, Dundrum, Sallynoggin, Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey. Exhibitions will be on display from the whole community, particularly special needs groups. An International Art Exhibition will be held in Blanchardstown, Dublin held in June 2003 displaying entries from all delegations. Is there an age limit for participants? No, there is no age limit. People of all ages can join in, the more people that become involved the better. Is this event a competition? No, it is not a competition. The aim is to involve the whole community. There will not be any judging involved. What types of materials can I use? You can use anything from crayons to oil-paints, you decide. I am an amateur; will you still want my artwork? Yes, the aim is for everyone to participate regardless of their background in art. Deadline The deadline for submission of artwork will be 15th May 2003.
