It is now four years since "The Dublin Toy & Train Fair" made the move across the bay to The Clontarf Castle Hotel, Castle Avenue on Dublin's north side. The move was necessitated after the previous venue was closed for complete refurbishment lasting up to two years. This move has seen an increase in the number of dealers as well as the number of tables. Dealers are now attending from as far away as Lithuania & the Czech Republic, and of course from closer to home, i.e. Ireland, north & south, England and Wales. They are bringing with them a greater variety of toys and trains to suit all tastes and all ages. The show now has up to 70 tables and most visitors are happy to browse around at their leisure in order to purchase those elusive toys which have enthralled them since their childhood days

The organisers now hold the events four times per year in this large modern hotel which has a fine conference hall, holding all the required tables on the day. There is a generous car park, full dining and bar facilities, and special rates are available for dealers wishing to stay there prior to or after the actual fair. Bus no. 130, from the city centre, direct to Clontarf Castle, and busses no. 103 and 104 also serve the local area .The hotel is 20 minutes walk from Killester and Clontarf Dart stations.

At all of the fairs one can find diecast models by Dinky, Corgi, Minichamps, Vitesse, as well as construction sets by Meccano, Bayko. Also lead soldiers by Britains, Crescent, Trains by Bachmann, Hornby, Triang, Trix, Wrenn, and Marklin. Antique dolls, Comics, and TV/Film annuals from the 1940's to the 1980s. Jigsaws, Teddy Bears, as well as the collectable Beannie Babies. Also plenty of books and catalogues by famous manufacturers. One section of the fair will be devoted to the beautiful world of furniture for miniature dolls houses.
