Announcing a brand new annual Summer Festival for Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown The Arts Office, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council are proud to present the inaugural Festival of World Cultures.

The Festival of World Cultures will celebrate the diversity of multi-faceted traditions locally, nationally and internationally through: music, dance, storytelling, workshops, street and park events. Activities will cater for all ages and stages with opportunities for participators and spectators.

Acts include: Joji Hirota and The Taiko Drummers from Japan, Yat-Kha from Siberia, Yellow Bird Dancers (native American), King Masco from Sierra Leone, De Jimbe (Afro-Irish), Havan’chè (Cuban) and The Café Orchestra (Irish). Also as part of the Festival the renowned Irish composer and musician Mícheál Ó’Suilleabháin will showcase the premier performance of his eight recording ‘Templum’.

Events will take place in the following locations:
Pavilion Theatre, St Michael's Church, Monkstown Church, Purty Kitchen, Peoples Park, Grainstore, Civic Plaza, East Pier, Assembly Room, Dance Theatre of Ireland, Concourse Theatre & the new 40 Foot Bar in the Pavilion.
