Getting Here By Air Dublin Airport (view map) is only 16 miles away. The airport is serviced by Dublin Bus routes (41, 41a, 41b, 41c) which will take you into the city centre where you can transfer onto a bus to Dun Laoghaire. There is also a service called AirCoach, runs coaches which will deliver you in comfort and speed to selected locations around the city. The Dart is also accessible using the AerDart service which takes you by bus to Killester Dart station. There are always plenty of taxis at the airport too. Average price to Dun Laoghaire would be around €50. Weston Airport (view map) is a private airfield and is located in County Kildare. It is linked to Dun Laoghaire via the N4/M50 motorways. There are no direct bus services between this airport and Dun Laoghaire, although there are buses (67, 67a, 67x) which will take you into the city centre from the gates. A taxi service is available from Weston with prior notification, again the fair would be around €50. If you're heading to the airport by car there is a very handy service available from Swiftpark, They will meet you at departures and take your car away to safe secure storage, wash it inside and out, and deliver it back to you at arrivals upon your return. Well worth it if you can spare the extra couple of quid.

Getting Here By Boat Stenaline run a regular service directly into the port of Dun Laoghaire from Holyhead in North Wales. Sailings run twice daily in each direction subject to season. Sailing time is approx 90 mins, subject to weather. To get into the town centre, take a left when leaving the port and head for the town hall. There is ample parking available within the vicinity of the port. Irish Ferries also run services from Liverpool and Holyhead to the Port of Dublin, only 8 miles away. When you leave the port travel over the toll bridge and follow the signs to Dun Laoghaire. It's a nice drive which takes you around the Sandymount shoreline with Dun Laoghaire and her harbour visible in the distance for most of the journey.

Getting Here By Train The Dart: You'll be getting a little piece of history when you travel from Dublin to Dun Laoghaire on the Dart, as it was the very first commuter line in the world. The journey offers spectacular views of Dublin Bay. The Dart runs every 5 minutes during rush hour periods and every 20 mins normally. Last Dart from the City Centre and Bray is usually around 11PM, make sure you don't miss it. Irish Rail Irish Rail is our national rail service and operates a regular and dependable service throughout the country. The Dart links up with Irish Rail at Connolly Station, as it does with The Luas tram service. If you're aged over 66 you can travel around the whole country for free. This scheme is called the 'Golden Trekker' and you must register before you leave home to avail of the scheme. Getting Here By Bus DublinBus: Dun Laoghaire is serviced by the following buses. The terminus is located at the dart station. Nightlink services run every hour on the hour from Trinity College between midnight and 3am. Getting Here By Car Dublin is surrounded by the M50 motorway (view map), all national roads heading to Dublin are connected to the M50. Dun Laoghaire is located about 4 miles inside the southern side of the motorway. The closest National road is the N11. If you're heading north on the N11, turn off at the Ballybrack exit and follow the signs all the way in to Dun Laoghaire, it's a straight run with a couple of roundabouts. From the city centre there are two main options, as we call them the top road and the bottom road. The top road is the N11 and takes you out via Stillorgan, turn left when you get to Foxrock church and head straight for Dun Laoghaire along Kill Lane. The bottom road takes you out via Blackrock on the R118, you need to take a left at Temple Hill onto the R119 (Monkstown Road) to head for Dun Laoghaire. Both routes are well sign posted. Finding the M50 Dublin's main ring road is well signposted. When you leave the port you will end up at a T junction on a railway bridge, take a right here followed by an immediate left at the apartment block, go straight through the next set of lights at Georges Street, continue up York Road and straight through the next set of lights at Mounttown until you get to the roundabout at Monkstown Farm, go left (2nd exit) onto Glenageary Road Upper, at the next roundabout take the third exit (Sally Glen Road), continue to the next roundabout in Killiney, go straight through here (2nd exit) and continue straight . You'll then reach a dual carriageway, keep going straight until you reach the M50, sounds more complicated then it is. (view map)
